Web3 gaming super app Gam3s.gg has raised $2 million in funding and said it plans to launch a native $G3 token to boost the popularity of Web3 gaming.
The company said its mission is to onboard the next 100 million gamers to Web3. The round saw participation from a number of leading VCs participating in a strategic round that will support Gam3s.gg's goal to transform Web3 gaming.
Investors include Merit Circle, WWVentures, Cogitent Ventures, P2 Ventures, Cypher Capital, Acheron, Basics Capital, OIG Capital, BreederDAO, Hercules Ventures and prominent angels including Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal, YGG co-founder Gabby Dizon, Sky Mavis and Ronin co -founder Jiho Zirlin and LiquidX co-founder Giulio Xiloyannis, among others.
Following the funding round, Gam3s.gg plans to continue launching its native $G3 token. During the token generation event, scheduled for early April, the $G3 token will be released to a global audience of Web3 players through a public sale and airdrop event to reward early adopters over the past 18 months. The $G3 token is expected to unlock exclusive platform features, in-game rewards, and the ability to participate in upcoming gaming token launches.

The super app Gam3s.gg, currently used by over 300,000 registered players, aggregates content to highlight the most popular Web3 games.
