Mascara is the element of makeup that I have the most problems with. Because my eyelashes are like that So simple, I've always had a hard time achieving that desired “doe-eyed” look that other people with more cooperative lashes have. They are not very stubborn; my length is decent but I wish they had a little more power! I have had eyelash extensions in the past and am spoiled by the “effortless” shine they provide with zero effort on my part. I didn't have to use eyeliner or anything else; I could wake up and feel fulfilled!
I admit that mascara has always been an additional element of my routine. However, every time I skip it, I feel like my makeup is missing something. I just feel bad! However, in recent months everything has changed. I remember to put on mascara every time I do my makeup, and it's always the same one: Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara ($26). (If something looks and sounds familiar, it's probably because you've seen it all over your social media feeds.)

Liquid Lash™ Extensions mascara
Before I actually tried Liquid Lash Extensions mascara, I had heard about it…Constant. It was recommended by other beauty editors, friends, celebrities, and random beauty enthusiasts I met and talked to in makeup stores. Liquid Lash has been given the TikTok viral treatment, with the brand apparently selling one every five seconds. It's impressive, especially since it's a direct-to-consumer product and not something you'd buy at Sephora or Ulta.
I usually rotate between several mascaras, whether it's a long-time favorite of mine or a new one I'm trying out. But for the entire year of 2024, Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions mascara is the only one that has touched my lashes. Liquid Lash is a mascara in a tube that uses the brand's patented Flake-Free Tubing Technology™ to lengthen each eyelash from root to tip. It also contains Orchid Stem Cell Complex™ to keep lashes healthy, as well as shea butter and castor seed oil to nourish and condition each strand. (So yes, even if you don't use this magical mascara, your natural lashes will look better too.) As for the brush, it's stiff and has short bristles that gently grab your lashes and lengthen them up and up!
One of my biggest annoyances are clumpy, spidery eyelashes. Liquid Lash lengthens my eyelashes without sticking or feeling heavy. (There's nothing worse than mascara that's too wet or too heavy, causing my straight lashes to droop.) I also appreciate how easy mascara is to remove at the end of the day; warm water is enough, although I usually use a gentle micellar water for my sensitive eyes, such as Bioderma's iconic Sensibio H2O ($19).
I use the black shade most often, but the brand offers a total of six color options, including some really fun shades like pink, green, and purple.

Besides, I lied! I regularly use another mascara, Thrive Causmetics Liquid Lash Volumizer ($26)! This one gives the lashes a fuller look but still doesn't look or feel heavy. Contains Thrive's Power Peptide Lash Booster™, sodium hyaluronate and organic pea sprout extract to leave lashes visibly healthy and strong, while also helping with hydration and density.

Three months is a real record for me and my previous laziness in applying mascara! If you haven't tried Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions or Liquid Lash Volumizer yet, this is, as they say, your sign to change that.
